Ooooh what can I say about the sweetest nephew and niece there ever was...;) Asia(2 1/2) and Nicolas(1)! I'm a such a proud Auntie!! I love these two soo much:) It's funny how amusing being an Aunt is. Just hearing the word "Auntie" when it's being said to them about me, tickles my heart. I was fortunate enough to be there when they were born. Well shortly after they were born. My sister had them both by cesarean so I wasn't in the operating room.
Asia was her first child and once she went into labor, officially, it was about 24 hrs later when they decided that natural child birth wasn't the best idea any longer. She and the baby were better off going through with a cesarean and in a way it was also a good thing that my sister didn't have to continue with the pain of contractions and pushing. Nicolas on the other hand, since he was the second birth and Asia was born by cesarean, it was planned that he too would be born that way. Again, for the health of both the mother and child, the doctors say that once you have a cesarean birth you shouldn't try to have a natural birth after, there are complications that can occur.
They were both born in Brentwood, Northern California, and lived in the east bay up until this last July. My sister and her family moved back down to Riverside, Southern California, where we grew up, to be closer to our mom and younger brother. Unfortunately this means that I don't see them as often but like I've always wished for them is to find a place to happily raise a family. Fortunately, it's only 7 hrs. away by car and 1 hr. away by plane=no biggie!
Here's a few pictures of my sweeties this last summer...more to come after the holidays!!
